    MADI’S MOTHER

I am Madi's mother and the founder of the Madison Brenton Foundation. To me, the Madison Brenton Foundation represents a way to move forward with Madi while honoring her and our fierce love. It is a way to keep Madi's name alive in the present, and it brings me great joy to help others in the same way she would. It's also a way to keep her memory and spirit alive for her children. I promised Madi that I would make sure her children always remembered what a wonderful mother she was and how much she loved them.

  • Matthew Brenton

    MADI’S FATHER

I am Madison's father. I am involved with the MBF for numerous reasons: to perpetuate Madison's legacy of kindness, joy, hope, strength, and perseverance; to maintain Madison's spirit alive and vivid for ourselves and others; to offer a ray of hope, compassion, connection, and love to those enduring traumatic and challenging times, providing solace during moments of solitude and disconnection; and to remind ourselves that life, despite its imperfections, can still be beautiful.

  • Seth Brenton

    MADI’S BROTHER

I am Madi’s brother. Being a part of MBF is meaningful because it is a way to bring hope and relief in times of turbulence when people feel helpless like Madi experienced.

    MADI’S FRIEND

There are many reasons why I wanted to be on the MBF Board of Directors. For one, Tammie and I are best friends and I couldn't imagine not accepting a Board position. I also wanted to be an integral part of the Foundation because of my connection with Madi, and to honor how she chose to live her life with a very rare and extremely challenging illness. After Madi found out she needed a double lung transplant to survive, I worked with her family and many others to create and hold fundraisers to assist with transplant expenses. Our community responded in big and loving ways to support Madi. It was humbling and heartwarming to be part of that fundraising experience for her. My position as a MBF Board member gives me additional opportunities to reciprocate some of the kindness, love and support shown to Madi. I know she'd be thrilled with how we're working together as a Board to provide some comfort, encouragement and hope to those in need in our community.

    MADI’S FRIEND

Madi not only quickly became a close friend to me, but she also assumed the role of a big sister I never had. Madi was constantly checking in on me even when she was fighting her own battles, and always finding ways to make light out of any situation. Madi and I became friends through our mothers, and she was someone you could always talk to without ever feeling judged. Madi's resiliency, faith, and strength inspired me and continues to drive my desire to not only spread awareness for those who may be suffering or grieving, but to remind myself that "life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful." With that message, I look forward to growing MBF in honor of Madi, while bringing awareness and hope to others in our community.

    MADI’S FRIEND

I am passionate about the Madison Brenton Foundation for a number of reasons. I first met Madison in 2013 when my wife, Jacki, and Madison’s mother, Tammie, coached cross country together. I was able to grow in life as Madison did especially, when her son, Brenton, and our daughter, Harper were born in 2014. As she began to battle her unknown lung disease, I watched her continue to thrive as a nurturing young mother to Adi and Brenton, pour love into her family and friends, and grow in her faith with God, despite the challenges and obstacles that lay before her. Madison had a fierce laugh and a passion for life that could rival anyone. Those that knew Madison knew that she loved her family more than anything in the world and that she did everything she could to spend as much time as possible with them. Madison’s beautiful determination to get the most out of every day despite what she faced was inspiring. Through my involvement with the Madison Brenton Foundation, I hope to provide help and inspirations to others just as Madison did.
